From 4th–7th December 2026, our beautifully restored Georgian country house will be transformed into a festive winter retreat, offering four unforgettable days of luxury, relaxation and celebration in the heart of the Cumbrian countryside.
Hosted personally by owners Ben Forster and Paul Longman, this exclusive experience has been thoughtfully created to bring together everything we love about Christmas: beautiful surroundings, exceptional food, meaningful connection and unforgettable moments.
Whether you’re planning a memorable mother-and-daughter getaway, a festive escape with friends, a sisters’ weekend, or a romantic winter retreat, Christmas Retreat has been designed as an opportunity to slow down, reconnect and celebrate the season in extraordinary surroundings.
From the moment you arrive and are welcomed with a glass of champagne, every detail has been carefully considered. Spend your days enjoying festive afternoon teas, winter walks through the countryside, a complimentary massage treatment, wreath making workshops and time to unwind in our outdoor hot tub beneath the winter sky.
Throughout your stay, our private chef will prepare every meal, from relaxed breakfasts and seasonal lunches to elegant evening dining experiences. When we first began restoring The Country House Cumbria, our dream was simple: to create a place where people could escape everyday life and make lasting memories with the people they love.
