THE HALL

a Contemporary Home

Over a period of 2 years, The Country House Cumbria has been lovingly restored into a contemporary home, with all the modern features you would expect for 21st century living, whilst retaining the magical atmosphere and period features of this Georgian gem.  The meticulous renovation has garnered thousands of fans online, has been featured on a national TV show and been praised in national broadsheets.  The owners have created a phenomenal kitchen and dining room space that you won’t want to leave.  The impressive range cooker by internationally renowned brand Ilve, will have you cooking up a storm whilst family and friends gather around the 4 metre marble prep table in anticipation.

Absolute Comfort

The beautifully designed 6 ensuite bedrooms, have mattresses and luxury wool toppers made by the Royal warranted brand Hypnos, for your absolute comfort. All of the bedrooms are individual in style and each boast a unique atmosphere and complimentary products by renowned brand, The White Company. Drain away your stress under a huge rainfall shower or soak away your aches and pains in one of the many roll top baths, cuddle up in a cosy robe or day dream in steamy bubbles underneath the stars! All of the bedrooms take advantage of the incredible Cumbrian views, whether it’s the fells of the North Pennines, the grounds of the house or far reaching vistas of Scotland.

Incredible Reception Rooms

For relaxation you have a host of incredible reception rooms and living spaces.  Whether its movie night for all the family in the TV lounge or cuddling up in front of a crackling fire, cocktails in the Drawing Room with its impressive 4 metre high fireplace and beautifully upholstered furniture or drinks in the orangery bar or a pool tournament in the games room, there is sure to be a space to keep everyone entertained.  The hand made kitchen is a dream for any budding chef, fully equipped for baking, cooking and whipping up all your culinary delights.  If cooking isn’t for you speak to us about hiring one of our expert private chefs! The games room, a dark and imposing room with a pool table, shelves stacked with board games and puzzles, a TV and games console, is sure to keep kids and adults entertained alike.

the Orangery Bar

Leading from the games room and the drawing room, is the Orangery, an addition to the house in 1914. The space has been painstakingly restored from dereliction and now features the “Orangery Bar”, for fun, frolics and Gin and Tonics, after a hard day out walking the fells, or even a “morning after” Bloody Mary.

Three Acres of Garden

Wind around the three acres of garden, play games on the lawn or meander around the meadow.  Outside has a plethora of things to offer.  With our local wildlife, see our resident hedgehogs, tawny and barn owls and our cheeky pheasants.  Whether you gossip away in The Orangery Bar garden or laze in the sun outside the kitchen on the big comfy outdoor sofas you can’t help but relax.  Task someone else to BBQ the dinner and serve you the drinks or let the friendly staff at the local village pub do it for you, it’s just down the road.
